AI agent vs a simple chatbot: who sells, and who presses buttons

A button tree breaks on the first live question. The agent runs the dialog, qualifies, and hands the deal to CRM — with rules, not improvisation.

“We installed a bot” often means a tree: 1 — hours, 2 — address. That is fine for three FAQs. It breaks when a client mixes questions and expects a sale, not a menu.

When a simple bot is enough

If 90% of inquiries are three facts and you have no capacity to review dialogs, a hard menu is more honest than a “half agent.” Senbi makes sense when inbound is a sale: qualification, slot, objection, deal.

  1. Written policies you can cite
  2. Bans: medical/legal without escalation
  3. Review of live dialogs and spot edits to the rules
  4. A pilot on one channel, then expand
